CONSULAR REGISTRATION

Consular registration is an administrative formality regarding Algerian citizens living in a foreign country.

It is a prerequisite in order to enjoy the benefits of protection and various services provided by consular representations. The registration card is free of charge and is valid for a period of five years. Its renewal must be requested by the holder.

Citizens who wish to register for the first time must present themselves at the Embassy in person.

Spouses and minor children (under the age of 19) born from Algerian father or mother are registered under the principal registration number, granted to the primary family member.

In case of a divorce it is compulsory to present the divorce decree.

After your registration, any changes (civil status situation, address, occupation etc.) must be notified to our Consular Service along with the relevant documents.

In case of definite return to Algeria, every citizen must ask for his/her removal from the records.
