GENERAL INFORMATION
Civil Passports
Greek and Albanian citizens, residing within the coverage area of the Consulate and wishing to travel to Algeria, must obtain beforehand an Entry Visa to Algeria, to be delivered by the Consular Service of the Embassy.
As for third country citizens, and the procedures they must follow for an Entry visa to Algeria, they are kindly requested to consult the Visa Section of the Consulate for information. Furthermore, they must present proof of their permanent residence in Greece.
Diplomatic and Service Passport
Holders of Diplomatic and Service passports, or other type of travel document, are kindly requested to contact the Embassy Visa Service, for further information regarding the procedure.
The visa can be collected by the applicant in person, or by a third person presenting the proper authorization and proof documents (identity of the applicant and the collector, folder submission slip).
- Applications : from Tuesday to Friday, 09.30 – 14.30.
- Collections : from Tuesday to Friday, 09.30-14.30.

Visa delivery deadline is 14 days. However, it may vary according to each particular case.
Visa validity date is the same as the date of delivery, printed on the visa sticker.
For Children under 18 years, the visa application form is filled in and signed by one of the parents and submitted along with all the other documents required for an adult visa. A 1599/1986 Law declaration (Declaration on Honour) must be added to the folder, signed and legalized by the Hellenic Authorities, in which each parent declares their permission for the child to travel, as well as a birth certificate.
Albanian citizens (country of coverage) wishing to travel to Algeria and to obtain an entry visa must contact the Embassy premises in Athens (the Diplomatic Office in Tirana is not authorised to deliver entry visas) and to present a complete application folder (see various types of visa and the required documents). For all Albanian passport holders, the submission of travel insurance is not necessary (for all types of visa).
