REQUIRED DOCUMENTS PER VISA CATEGORY

The documents required per visa category are the following:

Business visa

Required documents:

• Visa application form, duly filled in and signed by the applicant (two copies) (pdf form)
• Passport, valid for at least 06 months and photocopy of the first two pages
• 02 recent passport size photographs, color
• Travel insurance certificate, in English (coverage of repatriation, hospitalisation and medical fees, see table « Countries requiring Travel Insurance»), to be obtained from your insurance company, the travel agency or your bank. The certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the trip (and for a minimum period of 30 days)
• Letter of invitation issued by the business partner or the Algerian organisation bearing a recent date and stating the period during which the applicant will be taken in charge of,
  Or
• Letter of commitment or travel order issued by the employer of the applicant, and a hotel reservation. 

Tourist visa

Required documents:

• Visa application form, duly filled in and signed by the applicant (two copies) (pdf form)
• Passport, valid for at least 06 months and photocopy of the first two pages
• 02 recent passport size photographs, color
• Travel insurance certificate, in English (coverage of repatriation, hospitalisation and medical fees, see table « Countries requiring Travel Insurance»), to be obtained from your insurance company, the travel agency or your bank. The certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the trip (and for a minimum period of 30 days)
• A certificate of accommodation (for a minimum period of three months), legalised by the local authorities of the town of accommodation of the person inviting the applicant, or
• A hotel reservation, or
• A certificate-invitation issued by a traveler's agency in Algeria, which includes a detailed trajectory of the trip
• Ticket reservation of the trip (roundtrip ticket). 

Important: For those applicants wishing to travel by car or motorcycle, copy of the international driver’s permit and registration of the vehicle, translated and legalised by the Translation Service of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as a letter specifying the detailed itinerary of the trip, and a car or motorcycle insurance. 

Cultural visa

Required documents:

• Visa application form, duly filled in and signed by the applicant (two copies) (pdf form)
• Passport, valid for at least 06 months and photocopy of the first two pages
• 02 recent passport size photographs, color
• Travel insurance certificate, in English (coverage of repatriation, hospitalisation and medical fees, see table « Countries requiring Travel Insurance»), to be obtained from your insurance company, the travel agency or your bank. The certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the trip (and for a minimum period of 30 days).
• Letter of invitation issued by the Algerian sports, cultural or scientific partner or organisation. 

Work visa

Required documents:

• Visa application form, duly filled in and signed by the applicant (two copies) (pdf form)
• Passport, valid for at least 06 months and photocopy of the first two pages
• 02 recent passport size photographs, color
• Travel insurance certificate, in English (coverage of repatriation, hospitalisation and medical fees, see table « Countries requiring Travel Insurance»), to be obtained from your insurance company, the travel agency or your bank. The certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the trip (and for a minimum period of 30 days).
• Temporary Work Permit (APT), to be delivered by the competent employment services.
• Certificate issued by the same service, by which the employer agrees to cover the repatriation of the employee, once the employment relation is interrupted.
• Copy of the employment contract. 

Temporary work visa

Required documents :

• Visa application form, duly filled in and signed by the applicant (two copies) (pdf form)
• Passport, valid for at least 06 months and photocopy of the first two pages
• 02 recent passport size photographs, color
• Travel insurance certificate, in English (coverage of repatriation, hospitalisation and medical fees), to be obtained from your employer (see table « Countries requiring Travel Insurance »), from the travel agency or your bank. The certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the trip (and for a minimum period of 30 days)
• Employment contract (minimum contract period : 3 months)
• Temporary Work Permit (APT), to be delivered by the competent employment services.
• Certificate issued by the same service, by which the employer agrees to cover the repatriation of the employee, once the employment relation is interrupted.

Temporary Work Visa is also delivered to any foreigner holder of :

• Travel order of the employing organisation.
• Copy of the assistance contract, or the contract for the provision of services concluded between the applicant, or their employer (company or organisation) and a company or organisation carrying out an activity in Algeria.

Student visa

Required documents

• Visa application form, duly filled in and signed by the applicant (two copies) (pdf form)
• Passport, valid for at least 06 months and photocopy of the first two pages
• 02 recent passport size photographs, color
• Travel insurance certificate, in English (coverage of repatriation, hospitalisation and medical fees, see table « Countries requiring Travel Insurance»), to be obtained from your insurance company, the travel agency or your bank. The certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the trip (and for a minimum period of 30 days)
• Certificate of enrollment at an educational institution, public or private, certified by the Algerian State, along with a certificate of scholarship, issued by the Algerian Authorities or the Authorities of the applicant’s country, or other documents confirming the means of payment of the studies and coverage of the applicant’s residence.

Medical visa

Required documents:

• Visa application form, duly filled in and signed by the applicant (two copies) (pdf form)
• Passport, valid for at least 06 months and photocopy of the first two pages
• 02 recent passport size photographs, color
• Travel insurance certificate, in English (coverage of repatriation, hospitalisation and medical fees, see table « Countries requiring Travel Insurance»), to be obtained from your insurance company, the travel agency or your bank. The certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the trip (and for a minimum period of 30 days)
• Medical certificate
• Coverage of medical fees
• Approval of the host healthcare institution
• Hotel reservation, or
• Certificate of accommodation or other documents confirming the existence of necessary resources for the duration of the treatment. 

Family visa

Required documents:

• Visa application form, duly filled in and signed by the applicant (two copies) (pdf form)
• Passport, valid for at least 06 months and photocopy of the first two pages
• 02 recent passport size photographs, color
• Travel insurance certificate, in English (coverage of repatriation, hospitalisation and medical fees, see table « Countries requiring Travel Insurance»), to be obtained from your insurance company the travel agency or your bank. The certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the trip (and for a minimum period of 30 days)
• A certificate of accommodation, legalised by the local authorities of the town of accommodation of the person inviting the applicant
• For foreign spouses of Algerian citizens: copy of the Consular registration card of the spouse, marriage certificate or copy of the family booklet.

Transit visa

Required documents:

• Visa application form, duly filled in and signed by the applicant (two copies) (pdf form)
• Passport, valid for at least 06 months and photocopy of the first two pages
• 02 recent passport size photographs, color
• Travel insurance certificate, in English (coverage of repatriation, hospitalisation and medical fees, see table « Countries requiring Travel Insurance»), to be obtained from your insurance company the travel agency or your bank. The certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the trip (and for a minimum period of 30 days)
• Copy of the page of the passport, on which is attached the visa of the destination country
• Copy of the transport document towards the final destination country
• Evidence of sufficient funds for accommodation during the transit period, if the applicant is required to leave the International zone
• Hotel reservation, if the applicant must leave the International Zone. 

Press visa

Required documents:

• Visa application form, duly filled in and signed by the applicant (two copies) (pdf form)
• Passport, valid for at least 06 months and photocopy of the first two pages
• 02 recent passport size photographs, color
• Travel insurance certificate, in English (coverage of repatriation, hospitalisation and medical fees, see table « Countries requiring Travel Insurance»), to be obtained from your insurance company the travel agency or your bank. The certificate must be valid for the entire duration of the trip (and for a minimum period of 30 days)
• Detailed letter (in English or French) on the nature of the reporting assignment, issued by the employer or organization requesting the issue of the visa in the name of the journalist-applicant, including all details of the reporting assignment (places, dates, duration, subject etc.). All recording equipment and computing devices must be listed.
• CV of the applicant, in English or French.
• Photocopy of the press identity.
