HOW TO COLLECT YOUR BIOMETRIC PASSPORT
Biometric passports are issued in Algeria.
You may follow the progress of your application at the following link: https://passeport.interieur.gov.dz/Fr/Accueil_Fr/Accueil by introducing the information appearing on the slip of request submission.
Once the Embassy receives your passport, you will be informed by telephone, in order to present yourself for the collection.
Adult applicants and those aged 12 years and above must be present when receiving the biometric passport in order to carry out a fingerprint crosscheck. The presence of the children under 12 years old, at the moment of submission of the request, is not required.
You can collect your biometric passport without appointment from Tuesday to Friday, from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm, by presenting:
- Original 12S birth certificate, for people who have obtained it at the time of the request submission.
- Request submission slip
- The old passport (valid or expired).
IMPORTANT: According to the provisions of Law with No. 14-03 dated on 24/2/2014 and related to Travel Documents, the passport must be collected by its owner as soon as they are informed of it being available. Please note that all passports not collected within six (06) months after the notification date of their availability at the premises of the Embassy, are destroyed. In this case the stamp duty required for a new passport request is equal to the double price of the fixed stamp duty, except for cases of force majeure.
