PASSPORT PHOTO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The photograph must be recent and have a clear resemblance with the applicant at the moment of the application.

1. BACKGROUND

The background of the picture must plain, uniform, without frame and white.

2. FORMAT

Picture size must be 35 mm long and 45 mm high.
The size of the face inside the picture must be between 32 and 36 mm (that is 70 to 80% of the surface), from chin to top of the head (without the hair).

3. PICTURE QUALITY

The picture must be clear, the paper must not be folded or scratched or marked.

4. EXPOSURE, CONTRAST AND COLORS

The picture must not be overexposed or underexposed to light. 
The contrast must be correct, without shadow on the face or the background. 
It is highly recommended that the picture be in color.

5. HEAD

The head must not be covered by any accessory or decorative object.
The head must be straight and the face must be directed to the lens.

6. LOOK AND EXPRESSION

The subject must look directly into the lens.
The subject must have a neutral expression and a closed mouth.

7. FACE AND EYES

The face must be relaxed. 
The eyes must be open and clearly visible.

8. GLASSES

If you are wearing glasses, it is not compulsory to wear them in the picture.
However, if you choose to wear them, you must respect the following standards:

• The frame must not be thick
• The frame must not hide the eyes
• The lenses must be neither stained, nor colored
• There must not be any reflection on the lenses.
